Working For You - All Year Round
Our Campaigns
Your Liberal Democrat team work all year round to improve Bath and North East Somerset. Our councillors and campaigners fight for what matters to the residents in our wards, whether it's something small, like getting a bin collected, or something big, like ensuring our children have a decent choice of school.

Houses of Multiple Occupation
We are committed to ensuring that there is a better mix between rented accomodation and permenant residents. There has been a sharp increase in the number of HMOs in Bath, particularly in the Oldfield Park area, leading to some road with over 80% of the houses being converted to HMOs. The Liberal Democrats are commited to bringing in robust licensing and additional legislation that would mean better quality rented accomodation and stop so many houses being converted into HMOs.

20 is Plenty
For decades, the Liberal Democrats have been pushing for safer roads and a large part of this is the 20 is Plenty campaign. We would like to see all residential roads in Bath and Northeast Somerset become 20mph. This would reduce accidents, reduce traffic noise and should reduce carbon emissions.

Culverhay
In 2010, against the wishes of the local community, the Conservatives voted to shut Culverhay School leaving the South-West of Bath without a secondary school. One of our major manifesto commitments was to reverse this closure and ensure the school could become co-ed.

The Green Deal
Liberal Democrats on the council and in central government have been pushing for a raft of measures that make it easier for people to improve the green credentials of their home. These measures are known as The Green Deal. Under our leadership, the council is fully committed to The Green Deal.
