Footpaths repaired on Sham Castle Lane

Following requests from your local Councillors, the footpaths on Sham Castle Lane have been repaired and new surfaces laid down. The Council is carrying out a continuing programme of footpath improvements in the city, and sections of the pavement stones.

Warminster Road MoD site housing gets planning permission

The Council’s Development Control Committee has approved the planning application for 204 houses on the former MoD site at Warminster Road. The project will include two access points from Warminster Road, open spaces and landscaping, a pumping station and associated.

Quarry Road junction lines reported to council

Cllr Nicholas Coombes has requested that the council re-paint the lost white lines at the end of Quarry Road. The dashed lines at the junction with North Road, at the University’s western entrance, have been lost through road patching. Local.

Smallcombe Cemetery restoration wins lottery grant

Volunteers seeking to restore Smallcombe Cemetery have been granted nearly £50,000 by the Heritage Lottery Fund for their work.

The £48,600 was awarded to the Friends of St Mary’s Churchyard for a restoration project involving repair to the walls, vegetation.

Lib Dem Council gives Sydney Gardens £250,000

A project budget of £250,000 has been allocated to improve Sydney Gardens by the Lib Dem run Council.

The budget will pay for immediate improvements to the infrastructure in the park, such as the tennis courts and the play areas.
