The Lib Dems have delivered an £800 tax cut for lowest paid workers
In the budget today, The Chancellor announced that from April next year the income tax threshold will increase to £10,500. This means another £100 back in the pockets of the lowest paid workers.
This would not be happening without the Lib Dems in Government.
Increasing the Income Tax threshold to £10,000 was a top priority in the 2010 Lib Dem manifesto. We are delighted to have gone even further with this policy.
We understand that some people in Bath & North East Somerset are struggling to make ends meet. The Liberal Democrats locally and nationally have taken action to help local people pay their bills by increasing the Income Tax Threshold and freezing council tax every year since taking over B&NES council.
The Liberal Democrats will continue to deliver a stronger economy in fairer society and keep the government anchored in the liberal centre ground.
Best Wishes,
Paul Crossley
Leader of Bath & NES Liberal Democrats
Leader of the Council
