Ian Gilchrist has been the Councillor for Widcombe since 2007.
Ian came to live in Bath in 1983 and has lived in Widcombe since 1984. After a 25 year career with local software company IPL he went full-time councillor in 2012. Ian is married with two grown-up children both educated at Widcombe Schools and Ralph Allen. Ian is Chair of Governors at Widcombe Junior School.
He joined the LibDems in 2003 as a result of UK entry into the Iraq war. His Council duties currently include Vice Chair of the Early Years, Children and Youth panel, and membership of the Planning, Transport and Environment panel. His political interests include local environmental issues and schemes especially Transition Bath of which he used to be a trustee.Ian is proud to represent Widcombe and will try his best to further improve the area for all.
