Keynsham’s residents can use the One Stop Shop at the new Keynsham Civic Centre. Lib Dem run B&NES Council has joined up with a number of other public and voluntary services such as Citizens Advice Bureau (CAB), Curo, the Police, West of England Care and Repair and others to offer a variety of face to face help and advice, phone and online services in a bright, modern and welcoming environment. Council services available include Council Connect, Library and Information services, and Registrar Services.

LibDem Boost for Local Schools

The “pupil premium”, introduced by the LibDems nationally, provides extra support in schools for children who need it most, whether it is catch-up classes, 1-1 tuition, extra IT support – whatever the school thinks is best. This LibDem initiative will provide Broadlands School this year with an extra £118,200, Castle Primary School with an extra £70,200 (up from £46,725 in 2012) and St Keyna Primary with an extra £73,500 (up from £48,721 in 2012).

Swimming Pool must be town-centre based writes Andy

Here is Andy Halliday's letter to the press about his wish that any new swimming pool is based in the town centre:

"Dear Editor,

My attention has recently been drawn to the fact that when/if the Keynsham swimming pool closes on its present site, the possibility of relocation to Ashton Way is considered a non-starter. I, along with many residents in Keynsham South ward, believe that any replacement pool should be town centre based. So many people I have spoken with, some without transport, use this popular resource and feel its location is key to their regularly visiting the pool.

Help keep play areas and Holmoak field litter free

Local Campaigner Andy Halliday spoke out in the local press: “I make a plea to all users of our playing fields and play areas, with particular concern for the Holmoak field, to take any rubbish home or use the bins on site which the Town Council does manage well. A number of us who use the field for dog walking do litter-pick there from time to time but, sadly, increased usage often results in rubbish across the football pitch. In good weather, we get many more visitors to Holmoak field and noticeably more rubbish at the end of the day.
