River Bank RailingsAs promised in previous news from Ian and Ben, the contract to provide railings along the south It is also believed that the Canal and River Trust will be making a contribution to the cost of this project, so the overall contribution from the Council will be less than originally planned for.
Beechen Cliff improvements
This work is just the first phase of improvements which will be continued over the next 4 years. There is an active steering group containing residents from all affected near-by areas. If you feel you have ideas to contribute please in the first instance contact Ian. 20mph
Great Western Main Line ElectrificationConsultation continues on this scheme, with the next of the monthly drop-in sessions hosted by First Great Western and Network Rail to be held on Tuesday Dec 2, between 4.30 - 7.30pm at the Guildhall.
Widcombe Junior School
At the same time the school is continuing to raise money for its 'Great Hall' project, which will significantly enlarge the hall and provide kitchen and other facilities. The school is considering how best to make this an asset available to and useful for the whole Widcombe community. If anyone reading this would like in some way to contribute to this highly supportable project please contact Ian.
And lastly, the Widcombe Mummers
We hope for better weather than last year, but in case of rain the performances will be held in St Matthews church. The event is free but a collection will be taken to support St Matthews refurbishments. Lib Dems in WidcombeIan and Ben welcome any offers of support from readers of this email who have an interest in our activities. We would be interested to meet any people who want to join the Lib Dems, or deliver leaflets. We are specially interested too to talk to any individuals who would consider standing in the Council elections in May 2015. |
