His family then moved to corston view in Odd Down and lived in a prefab, soon after he moved to Barrow road, the Schools he when to were St Lukes (now St Phillis) then he attended Westhill Boys School (now Culverhay) he has lived in Odd Down for over 30 years. Steve works for a care home and is a painter and decorator.
Steve and Nigel still have the only weekly surgery in the Authority which has been running for the last ten years. He first ran for council because he believed the council should be run on behalf of the people, and when the people speak the council should listen.
Steve says "It has been an honour serve Odd Down since 1999, with Nigel Roberts, we have helped residents stop a School being built on the Odd Down playing fields. Helped residents to stop 2000 extra houses being built around Odd Down, helped residents get Sulis Meadows adopted and the landscaping sorted.
We have helped residents save St Martins primary School, and many other small success, from getting pot holes fixed to getting street signs repaired, and a speed control sign installed in rush hill, with two more to follow this year in Odd Down, old fosse road traffic calming.
However we still have things to do, so our pledge for the next Council is.
We will work hard to achieve.:
1) Keeping Culverhay open
2) Resurfacing in Kingsway
3) Speed of traffic on rush hill
4) Completing the adoption of the Clarks estate
5) Traffic lights for Banwell road
6) Make Odd Down a better place to live and play
7) Protect our green spaces.
