Saltford residents, Farida Wilson and Duncan Hounsell, have been selected to contest the two Saltford seats on B&NES Council in the May 2015 elections for the Liberal Democrats.Mrs Farida Wilson has lived in the village on Bath Road for many years.

Saltford's residents can use the One Stop Shop at the new Keynsham Civic Centre. Lib Dem run B&NES Council has joined up with a number of other public and voluntary services such as Citizens Advice Bureau (CAB), Curo, the Police, West of England Care and Repair and others to offer a variety of face to face help and advice, phone and online services in a bright, modern and welcoming environment. Council services available include Council Connect, Library and Information services, and Registrar Services.
Saltford station project in Lib Dem 2015/16 budget

Cllr David Bellotti, B&NES Lib Dem Cabinet member for resources, has announced £250,000 in the Lib Dem proposed 2015/16 budget for B&NES Council to take the re-opening of Saltford Station forward to the next stages of project development. All developments on the railway have to follow Network Rail’s 8-stage process called the GRIP process. The first four stages are about planning and the final four about implementation.

“Stop our side-roads being used as a park-and-ride!”

Local campaigners Duncan Hounsell and Farida Wilson have called on B&NES Council to consult Saltford residents about possible parking restrictions on roads off the A4 to stop all-day on-street car-parking. Manor Road, Tyning Road, Rodney Road and Beech Road are the worst affected and the problem is spreading. Some people are leaving their cars all-day while they travel to work on the bus or in a car-share.
