Gerry Curran

Gerry Curran was first elected in 1995 to represent Twerton, and is now the Chair of the Development Control Committee.
Gerry was born in Dublin and was educated in Ireland. He now lives in Bath with his family. He has worked as a Respite Care Worker supporting children and young people with disabilities and their families. He has also been a foster carer to a young person with a learning difficulty and provided family link support to adults also.
Gerry was first elected to the Council in 1995 and was Chair of the Council from 2001-02. He was the Executive Member for Education from 2002-03 and Chair of Health and Social Services Overview and Scrutiny Panel from 2003-05. Gerry then became Executive Member for Sustainability and the Environment between 2005-07. He was the Vice Chair of Avon Fire Authority and was a Governor at Culverhay Secondary School for 16 years, including 12 as Chair. He has been the Chair of Trustees of Bath City Farm and is also a Governor at Twerton Infants School. Gerry was Deputy Mayor of Bath in 2008.
Gerry works hard to serve the city of Bath and in particular his local area of Twerton. He was named runner up Politician of the Year two years in a row by the Bath Chronicle.
