Don Foster MP is retiring after having served Bath as its MP since 1992 and Steve Bradley has been selected by Bath Liberal Democrats as the prospective parliamentary candidate for Bath.
Bath Community AcademyIn 2010 the Former Culverhay was at risk of being closed by the Conservative administration that was running the Council. Cllrs Dine Romero and Paul Crossley, working with parents and the school, campaigned long and hard to stop the closure and indeed get the school turned into a co-educational school.
Improvements made at Claverton Road Play Area

B&NES Council has resurfaced the mound and re-configured the tube tunnel at the Claverton Road Play Area. This follows a request to B&NES Council by local campaigner Duncan Hounsell and local resident Mrs Lynne Davies at a site meeting held in January 2013. Norman Road and Stratton Road to be resurfaced

Lib Dem run B&NES Council will be carrying out “Carriageway Micro Asphalt Surfacing” of Norman Road and Stratton Road as part of the Highway Maintenance Programme for 2014/2015. Local campaigners Duncan Hounsell and Farida Wilson (pictured) said “This is welcome news as the road surfaces in the two roads have deteriorated badly.” B&NES Council will announce the dates and the timings for the work in due course and any questions relating to this work will need to be addressed directly to B&NES Council.
£50,000 repair programme for Saltford Brass Mill

Cllr David Bellotti, B&NES Cabinet member for community resources, announced a major repair and maintenance project at Saltford Brass Mill at the April meeting of B&NES Cabinet held at the Guildhall, Bath. Expenditure will be in the region of £50,000. The announcement was made in response to a speech in public time by Duncan Hounsell, the Lib Dem organiser for Saltford and community campaigner.
