by Ben Stevens
Ben Stevens was elected to serve Widcombe in 2011.
Ben is a local graduate who has lived and worked in Widcombe for the past 5 years.
Ben was motivated to become a local councillor to ensure that the council listens and acts on the voices of local residents. Primarily Ben would like to help Widcombe become a cohesive community, one in which all residents and students are made to feel welcome. In particular Ben works to ensure that students coming to the city are accepted by the local community and are encouraged to stay in Bath. Through this he hopes to strengthen the economy of Bath by improving graduate retention and creating a more varied economy that is not over-reliant on tourism.
Ben was born in Bristol and grew up in Bournemouth, moving to Bath in 2006 to study at university. Having fallen in love with this city he has set up home here and has got involved in the local community, helping out with Widcombe Rising and upcoming Comedy Festival. Ben continues to have designs in a theatrical direction as well as beginning a career in event management and marketing.
