Sarah was elected in 2003 to represent Peasedown Ward.
Sarah was born in London and moved to Peasedown St John in 2000 where she lives with her son, who attends a local school.
Sarah was first elected as councillor for Peasedown St John in 2003 and held various positions of public office before becoming Madam Chairman of Bath and North East Somerset council 2010 - 2011. She was the council's Human Rights Champion, regularly delivering presentations explaining why the Human Rights Act 1998 is important to us today. She still organises the council's annual Holocaust Memorial Day on January 27th and visited secondary and primary schools around the authority to give short, illustrated talks for children and young people on their rights and responsibilities.
Sarah has worked hard since 2003 to improve the quality of life for all residents, achieving improvements for a safer, cleaner, greener Peasedown St John.
Recent successes include:
1 The creation of a community orchard as part of the BBC's Tree O'Clock project
2 Achieving a 20 mph speed limit in New Buildings as part of our Twenty is Plenty ongoing campaign
3 Drawing up a more comprehensive rota for street cleansing to include streets hitherto unswept or maintained
4 The installation of two pedestrian refuges and pedestrian crossing over the Peasedown St John bypass where public rights of way were cut in half
5 Creating three parking spaces for residents with a disability along with other road safety measures outside the local nursery school in the Eckweek Gardens/Eckweek Road area
