Bath Liberal Democrats*

Royal CrescentWelcome to the Kingsmead ward! Like Abbey, our ward contains a large part of the commercial centre of the city of Bath. It then continues west to border with Newbridge. Kingsmead is a vibrant and diverse ward - alongside many flourishing small businesses, you will find one of Bath's independent cinemas, the beautiful Theatre Royal, a wide variety of restaurants and cafes, and of course - the Royal Crescent.

Kingsmead recently piloted a scheme to combat drug abuse in public toilets. The ultra-violet lighting, which makes it difficult for people to see their veins, has been a success and is now being extended to other conveniences in and around Bath. We are further working to improve community safety through improved street lighting, safer routes to school, tackling drug abuse and reducing anti-social behaviour.

We are forming an action group to work closely with the Police to address crime hotspots, and we're encouraging new Resident Associations to ensure local residents have a stronger voice.

We are also working hard to keep local shopping in areas such as Chelsea Road and St James Street.
