Don often needs to write letters to government ministers or public bodies on specific issues. Below you will find some of his recent significant correspondence.
Dear Foreign Secretary,
Re: Urgent situation in the Democratic Republic of Congo
We are writing to you to express our deep concern at the mounting instability in the Democratic Republic of Congo, following the Presidential elections on Monday 28th November 2011. As you will be aware, scores of Congolese civilians have already been killed in election-related violence, including by the Presidential Guard. There have also been verified reports of fraud and logistical breakdown. A preliminary, unverified and partial release of the result has done nothing whatsoever to defuse panic.
Don Foster MP has written to the Defence Minister, Andrew Robathan MP requesting an explanation as to why the Ensleigh MOD site is being advertised as a "prime Bath development opportunity".
The advert appears to contradict assurances given by the Minister to both Don and Jacob Rees-Mogg MP, that the MOD would work in close conjunction with B&NES Council before deciding the fate of the site.
Don Foster MP has written to the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, William Hague, urging him to back women's rights.

Thank you very much for contacting me about the reform of the NHS.
I received comments from over 500 constituents and am grateful to all of them.
I hope that this letter covers all the main points that were raised including the legal opinion that had been given to the organisation 38 Degrees. The length of this response reflects the seriousness and complexity of this issue.

Dear Bernie,
I am writing about the recent controversy over the BBC losing exclusive coverage of Formula 1. I do not believe this result promotes the best interest of license fee payers and F1 fans. I believe the best result would have been for the rights to remain with a free to air broadcaster, even if this was not the BBC.
