    I enclose a letter and an article which I have received from one of my constituents, Mr xxxxxx, of xxxxx,Bath.

    The death of Mustafa Tamimi is another example of people suffering from the misuse of tear gas in Israel and The Occupied Palestinian Territories. We have witnessed a series of deaths and injuries in recent years from tear gas canisters being fired directly at crowds. Tristan Anderson of Oakland California is suffering from brain damage, paralysis and seizures after he was hit in the head by a canister at a 2009 demonstration[i].

    Commenting on the announcement from the Scottish Premier League that it would allow pilots of safe standing terraces at football stadiums in Scotland, Don Foster MP said:

    "The SPL is right to take an objective view of safe standing in Scottish football.

    "There is evidence from across the world that standing can be completely safe. Safe standing is preferable to the status quo, where fans frequently stand in sections designed only for sitting.

    Don Foster MP has today welcomed Coalition Government plans to introduce a network of "family troubleshooters" to help turn the fortunes of some of Britain's most troubled families.

    In Bath & North East Somerset, Government figures estimate there are between 210 and 220 families living with complex needs. It is estimated that these families cost B&NES public services between £55 and £72 million per year.

    Don was today named as a runner-up in the Sports Parliamentarian of the Year Awards following a joint nomination from the West of England Sport Trust (Wesport) and the British Paralympic Association.

    Don was instrumental in establishing 'Team West of England', a group which under his chairmanship has worked to achieve a regional legacy from the 2012 Games. Don's efforts have also helped ensure that the University of Bath was chosen to host the 'preparation camp' for ParalympicsGB ahead of London 2012. Don's knowledge and experience of the sector at a national level were also highlighted, as was his championing of equality of access to sport

    On Tuesday 13 December, Don Foster MP sponsored Martin Caton MP's Presentation Bill on Flue Gas Recovery Devices. The Bill promotes the use of an innovative British technology that utilises the waste heat from boilers to provide hot water. The system fits the criteria of the Green Deal as it will assist with reducing emissions and also help in alleviating fuel poverty.
