Jay Risbridger and Manda Rigby
Manda Rigby
Cllr Manda Rigby was elected to B&NES Council to represent Abbey ward in May 2011.
Manda Rigby was born in Bolton, and did her first degree at Bristol University where she also had a Sabbatical year as President of the Students' Union. After graduating, she went into the City where she worked for 10 years. She then moved into the technology sector, running marketing for Cisco in the UK and Microsoft Business UK as well as being Managing Director of Netgear UKI. She then set up her own business doing management consultancy and took several high profile roles, including at the London development Agency and the ntl/Telewest merger. She did a lot of work bringing technology to charities, most notably being the UK organiser of NetAid and launching the Comic Relief website.
She moved to Bath in 2007 to do an MA in creative writing at Bath Spa university and has made Bath her home. She has always worked hard to help her community, and has been an active campaigner in Bath, as well as being a Samaritan.
Hobbies include writing, looking after dogs and a very unhealthy obsession with Bolton Wanderers and Bath FC! On the council she is Vice-Chair of the Resources panel and also sits on the Economic and Community Development panel and the Licensing Committee.

Jay Risbridger
Jay Risbridger runs a pioneering Green business in Walcot street and is a Liberal Democrat campaigner in Abbey ward. Jay has a background in overseas development and the recycled paper industry. He established The Green Stationery Company in 1989, today his company is the national market leader in supplies of recycled and environmental office products to ethical businesses.
In the late eighties and nineties Jay was an active Green Party member. He stood as a Green parliamentary candidate in Yeovil in 1992 and was elected to the party council as the representative for the Severnside region. He also chaired the Bath Green Party for several years as well as standing for Bath Council on four occasions.
He left the Green Party in 1994 along with many other members, following the failure of reforms to make the party more democratic and broad based. After concentrating on his green business activities for the past 15 years he recently returned to politics and joined the Liberal Democrats. Jay is impressed by community based approach of the Liberal Democrats and their commitment to environmental issues. He is a member of the Green Lib Dem group.
Jay is married and has lived in Bath for over twenty years. He and his wife have a daughter at Hayesfield school and they will often be seen in Bath city centre with their Borzoi wolfhound, Sasha. His interests include visiting Italy and sword fencing.
