Bath Uni Lib Dems with Graham Watson MEP at the European Parliament

European Parliament, Brussels

The Lib Dem Soc took 30 members to visit the European Parliament and our MEP Graham Watson. We stayed over night in Brussels enjoying dinner followed by the pub of 2000 beers, among others.

Our tour of parliament included meetings with senior MEPs and an hour watching the parliament in action and listening to the translations.

Several Brussels based Lib Dem Soc members showed the group around the city before catching the train back to Bath.

Bath Uni Lib Dems with Big Ben

Our own Bath Lib Dem MP took us for a guided tour of the Houses of Parliament including the Lords, Commons and the Thames terrace. Lunch was at the Liberal Democrat London headquarters before an afternoon in Portcullis House, the MPs' offices, meeting many more Lib Dem parliamentarians.

The Liberal Democrat Society were private guests of the Mayor of Bath for an evening in the Guildhall. We were given a personal tour of the Council Chamber, Banqueting and reception rooms after drinks in the Mayor's Parlour.
