Foster Votes With His Feet to Bring Olympics to London in 20128.01.06pm GMT Thu 16th Dec 2004 Yesterday (Wednesday 15th December), Bath's MP, Don Foster, joined members of the House of Lords to demonstrate his support for the UK's 2012 Olympic and Paralympic bid in the gardens of Westminster Abbey. Don was one of a number of Lords and MPs who came out to register their support for the bid to host the Olympic Games in London in 2012 by 'leaping' though EDF Energy's Leap Counter. He followed the example of thousands of members of the public across the country who have been keen to give their backing to the bid. Commenting, Don said: "Bringing the Olympic Games and Paralympic Games to this country would not only be a tremendous boost for London but for the rest of the UK. I was only too happy to come and show my support for the bid and hope that the people of Bath will get behind it as well." EDF Energy was the first company to become a Premier Partner of the London 2012 bid and is committed to helping bring the Olympic games to London. The specially designed counter has been registering people's support for the bid since May when it was first unveiled and has already had an impressive 129,000 people leap through it. To register your support for the bid, visit www.edfenergy.com and take advantage of the virtual leap counter on the site.
