Bath's MP, Don Foster, met four of the city's brightest engineering stars yesterday at a Parliamentary reception organised by SET for Britain. SET (Science, Engineering and Technology) for Britain aims to nurture, encourage and promote young researchers and the Parliamentary Exhibition is a highlight of their program. Don met Benjamin Lindsey, Jonathan Shanks, Edwige Sima-Ella and Chin-Chih Tai, all from Bath University, who had been specially selected to exhibit at Westminster. Commenting, Don said, "The energy and inventiveness displayed by these four young engineers was inspiring. "Young researchers, like these four, are the cornerstone of British research and development, and events like this serve to remind us that this is the basis for maintaining and improving Britain's economy and the health and quality of life of all its people. "Young Engineers are an essential and vital asset."
