Bath Liberal Democrats - Working and Winning for Bath with Don Foster all Year Round

Westmoreland

Local Elections 2007:

Councillor Sharon Ball and Councillor Lynda Hedges have represented Westmoreland for 12 and 8 years respectively. They are both standing for re-election on 3rd May 2007.

Lynda said:

"I am standing for re-election because I know I can continue to make a difference to the local community in Westmoreland. I believe in consulting the community before decisions are taken which affect them."

Sharon added:

"I have been on the planning committee for the past 12 years and would like some of the draconian planning rules that the government has set removed."

About Westmoreland:

Welcome to the Westmoreland ward! Our ward covers a large part of the south-west of Bath. Westmoreland is part of the "South West Triangle" of Bath, also covering parts of the Southdown and Twerton Wards.

A group of local people and organisations in the SWT area are now meeting regularly, and trying to find ways to involve more people in the regeneration of the area, share ideas and find out what needs to be done.

We also hope Westmoreland will benefit from the creation of in the region of 10,000 new jobs with the £1bn redevelopment of the Western Riverside area. The Western Riverside project is a major part of the council's agenda for the next five years, and your local councillors will be closely involved.

There have been a number of opportunities for members of the public to comment on the Western Riverside scheme, and there will be many more - we hope you'll take the time to have your say!
