Bath Liberal Democrats - Working and Winning for Bath with Don Foster all Year Round

Bathavon North

Bathavon North is geographically one of the largest wards in Bath and North East Somerset, and has three councillors.

The ward is currently in the parliamentary constituency of Bath, but it will be moving in to Wansdyke at the next General Election. Also at that time, Wansdyke will be renamed North East Somerset.

Bathavon North includes the communities of Batheaston, Bathampton, and Northend. Nestled throughout the ward are a number of picturesque hamlets, the like of which make Bath and North East Somerset popular with tourists from across the UK, and from around the world.

The local elections for Bath and North East Somerset were on 3rd May 2007. Your local Liberal Democrat candidates for Bathavon North were Katie Hall, Anna Habermann and John Munro.

Katie Hall

Katie says: "I stood for the Council because, like many people, I have strong views on how Bath and North East Somerset should be run. For example, I have been campaigning on green issues for twenty years. I believe we can all make a difference by changing the way we do everyday things. The Council can take a lead in this, including working to be carbon neutral."

"I believe that a strong focus on community services is of vital importance and that the Council should be truly local. The needs of the different parts of Bath and North East Somerset are very different. The villages around Bath, the rural areas, the coalfield towns, Keynsham and our beautiful city itself all have different priorities."

Anna Habermann

Anna says: "I've been campaigning for the Lib Dems for nearly eight years and this was the first time I have stood for election. I feel that Lib Dems in Bath and North East Somerset have real vision for the area."

John Munro

John says: "I stood in the Council elections because I am a committed Liberal Democrat and to give the people of Bathavon North a genuine alternative."
