Midsomer Norton rail station

The Somerset and Dorset Railway at Midomer Norton is growing fast. With nearly 1000 members and over 100 regular volunteers, it has turned the old station at Midsommer Norton into a thriving hub and museum. Now it is working with the Liberal Democrat administration of Bath & NE Somerset Council to secure its long term future by taking advantage of the Community Asset transfer scheme of the Council.
Leader Visits BWR

Leader of the Council visited the Bath Western Riverside site to meet with Crest Nicholson to look at some of the latest flats being completed and sold and also to discuss the next stages.The new build on Western Riverside is selling well and with the Liberal Democrat Cabinet shortly to approve the funding to take down the gas holders the rest of the scheme can now be built out. Next stage is some town housing by the river in front of Homebase and the the next block of Curo Social housing to be built towards the destructor bridge.
Temple Street - business as usual

Liberal Democrat Council Leader Paul Crossley recently met with a number of traders in Keynsham High Street to promote the improved signage for Temple Street Traders during the construction phase of the new town centre. It is important that whilst we are rebuilding parts of Keynsham Town Centre that we maintain the economic vitality and diversity of the High Street and Temple Street.
Two Tunnels

Council Leader Paul Crossley has now ridden the Two Tunnels twice. They are a fantastic experience and it was eat to see so many cyclists and pedestrians using the tunnel at the weekend. Linking in as it does to other cycle routes it is now easier than ever to have some really good and varied cycle and walking trips from Bath.
Community Asset Transfer scheme

The Liberal Democrat administration is looking to find ways of using some of its assets in partnership with community based organisations who will be able to make greater use and also poly for grant funding not available to Councils.Many years ago the scout camp was up at the top of Bathwick Hill where the university now is. When Bath City Council gave the land to set up the university it provided the scouts with a field at Cleve Hill.
