Don Foster is Bath's Number 1 Supporter. He stands up for our city and the people in it.

February is National Heart Month and the British Heart Foundation (BHF) and Don Foster MP are asking Bath residents to join National Wear Red Day on Friday 24 February 2012 and to follow the BEAT code for simple steps to a healthier heart.
In National Heart Month, the BHF encourages people across the UK to think about their own hearts and the hearts of those around them. The nation's heart charity also needs people across the UK to get involved with National Wear Red Day, and raise vital funds for the charity's life-saving work.
Getting paid promptly is vital to business, especially smaller suppliers. That is why Don Foster MP is urging Bath's businesses to sign the Prompt Payment Code as part of the Government's 'Business in You' campaign.
The Prompt Payment Code is about encouraging and promoting best practice between organisations and their suppliers. Signatories to the Code commit to paying their suppliers within clearly defined terms, and commit also to ensuring there is a proper process for dealing with any issues that may arise.

New figures reveal that in Bath, 460 people benefitted from an apprenticeship last year, an increase of 61%.
This news comes as the Coalition Government has launched the National Apprenticeships Week, which will seek to build on last year's success with events in schools and businesses.
Commenting, Bath MP Don Foster said:
Liberal Democrat Energy and Climate Change Secretary, Ed Davey has announced that two more community energy schemes in Bath are to benefit from the Local Energy Assessment Fund second round allocations.
In the latest awards Energy Efficient Widcombe has been awarded £44,967. Widcombe, like other parts of Bath, has a high proportion of older houses, which are often considered "difficult to heat" so contractors will first be engaged to carry out a general survey of housing stock in Widcombe. They will then focus on common types of house, including listed buildings, for a more in depth study of a range of potential energy efficiency measures that could be undertaken.
