The coalition government recently announced a drive to get rid of unnecessary signs, railings and advertising hoardings in a bid to make streets tidier and less confusing for motorists and pedestrians and save money. The move to remove "scruffy signs, bossy bollards, patchwork paving and railed off roads" has been backed by Don Foster MP.
He said "Plenty of signs are necessary, and very useful - but the many unneeded and ugly signs cluttering up some streets are actually making life more difficult for motorists who have to read five or six signs at once when only a few are actually worth reading."
If you know of any unhelpful signs, unneeded railings or other 'street clutter' that you would like to see removed, please email Don at don@donfoster.co.uk, or send him a letter at Bath Liberal Democrats, 31 James Street West, Bath, BA1 2FW .
