B&NES Lib Dems join the 'Twitterati'

March 31, 2009 10:34 AM

Residents in Bath and North East Somerset can now sign up to receive 'tweets' from Liberal Democrat websites across the area.

By visiting http://twitter.com/bathnesld residents can follow the news feeds from councillor blogs plus news from Don Foster, MP for Bath.

Cllr David Dixon (Lib Dem, Walcot) said, "With so many blogs and websites all offering news and information from the Liberal Democrats across Bath and North East Somerset, it is great that we can now capture all this news in one easy place and follow links to various blogs and websites for the stories that interest people.

"Bath and North East Somerset Liberal Democrats have embraced the web and social media websites as a means of contacting residents. Many Councillors, as well as Bath MP Don Foster, are on Facebook, and some Councillors have their own Twitter feeds. The Liberal Democrats also continue to send out information by more traditional means such as their ever popular 'Focus' newsletters and surveys."

If you are a resident of the Bath constituency and are writing to discuss any issue that Parliament or government is responsible for, you must provide your home address as MPs are generally only permitted to act on behalf of constituents.

If you are not a constituent, you do not need to provide your address, but the matters we can deal with are more limited and you may wish to contact your local MP in the first instance.
