September 7, 2007 11:58 AM

Don Foster has been selected to stand as the Liberal Democrat candidate for Bath at the next general election.

Local party members voted overwhelmingly to re-select Don, who has served the city as MP for the last fifteen years, to fight the seat again.

Commenting, Don said:

"I'm honoured to have been given the opportunity to once again seek the support of local people to be their MP."

"I am immensely proud to have represented the city for the last fifteen years and I assure all the people of Bath that my passion for our wonderful city has in no way diminished."

Ian Thorn, Chair of Bath Liberal Democrats said:

"I am delighted that Don's remarkable record of service to Bath and its residents has again been fully endorsed. Don has been a great servant of the city and I am confident that a large majority of residents will want that to continue."

If you are a resident of the Bath constituency and are writing to discuss any issue that Parliament or government is responsible for, you must provide your home address as MPs are generally only permitted to act on behalf of constituents.

If you are not a constituent, you do not need to provide your address, but the matters we can deal with are more limited and you may wish to contact your local MP in the first instance.
