Foster's Flying Start

April 5, 2005 4:00 PM

Bath's Liberal Democrats have got off to a flying start in the general election campaign, with a co-ordinated constituency-wide mass delivery of a leaflet setting out Don's policies for the coming term.

Commenting, Don said,

"This is an exciting time to be a Liberal Democrat, and we're keen to tell people our positive and fully-costed proposals on health, pensions, crime, and council tax.

"More and more people are looking to the Liberal Democrats to provide a real alternative to Labour and the Conservatives, and this is exactly what we're doing.

We're expecting to make some spectacular gains since we've earned the trust and respect of millions of people across the country for having honest policies, providing the real opposition to the Government and for not taking local people for granted.

"I'm looking forward, over the coming weeks, to meeting as many constituents as I possibly can - to ask, once again, for their support.

"In every previous election I've been involved in, we've had a good, clean campaign, and I sincerely hope this will continue.

The Liberal Democrat's Constituency Agent, Mrs. Katt Martin, said,

"Don's been a superb MP for 13 years and we're going to run a positive campaign based on his impressive record of helping and representing local people - "A record of Action, a Promise of More."

Bath Liberal Democrat Party Chairman, Cllr. Tim Bullamore said:

"I'm proud of our local team, We're all going to work incredibly hard over the next few weeks to get Don re-elected. After all he's done for Bath and it's residents, he deserves it."

If you are a resident of the Bath constituency and are writing to discuss any issue that Parliament or government is responsible for, you must provide your home address as MPs are generally only permitted to act on behalf of constituents.

If you are not a constituent, you do not need to provide your address, but the matters we can deal with are more limited and you may wish to contact your local MP in the first instance.
