Bath's MP, Don Foster, is today certainly practising what he preaches!
Having gained something of a reputation for frequently voicing his concerns about rising levels of obesity and lack of fitness, especially amongst children, not only was Don one of the first MPs to cross the finishing line in the annual Parliamentary Bike Ride held this morning, he has also joined fellow MPs, Government Ministers and Peers in running the "Westminster Mile" in aid of the BBC charity, Sport Relief.
Don completed the mile in just over 9 minutes, and even passed former Olympic Athlete Tessa Sanderson!!
Commenting, (a breathless!) Don Foster, said
"Taking part in these two events today has been great fun, but they do serve to highlight serious issues.
"Obesity is fast becoming a major problem for this country, and, as a nation, we simply don't take enough exercise.
"I'm also delighted to be able to support Sport Relief and their work. It's a great charity"
